What are the average starting salaries, bonuses, benefits and travel requirements like at Target?

What do you like best about working at Target? Are there any great perks or special treats for employees?

i been at target for 11 months now. and i only recieved a 50 cent rasie just becuz min wage went up in california. thats pathetic

Target pays there employees crap for money. They DONT give raises based on performance. WOW 1 raise per year! thats really going to make me want to stay at target. Its sad becuz management can replace any level 1 in a instead so as long as they get there hefty salaries. They dont care who they hire. I have seen soo many people quit at my store. becuz targets hourly pay is pathetic. and down right degrading. so they go work at walmart and make more money. which 25% of the people at my store did.

theres no great perks at all. the 10% discount is not even worth using. the 401k is the slowest way to retirement. theres no bonuses. ETL's are fake as hell to its employees. walk around not even greeting its employees but talking down to them.

Im glad i have a second job LOWES. now that is a respectable job. I put working at target the same as working at mcdonalds. down right degrading

I don't think they want to know how the pay is for hourly store workers...this a corporate position at the headquarters. Most HQ jobs pay much better than, for example, the lower level corporate jobs at WalMart. As for hourly...I used to make 6.50 working at Caribou Coffee, so don't ever expect much if you don't have a degree or any experience!

Well, I have to agree. I've been trying to get a dayshift job at target b/c they were hiring for 5 different store positions. I called 3 times wondering if anyone went over my application. It's been about 4 weeks since then and nothing. I've gave up. If they were in such desperate need for help then what the hell? I have 5 years customer service skills and worked at mcdonalds for 4 years so I know how it is!

Any employee perks that existed up until 2001 have been viciously stamped out. The jobs in the stores, districts/regions and distribution centers and different than HQ.

Target puts out the smoke screen that they're a great place to work all the while their practices are the opposite.

You do get that big 10% merchandise discount. They give the very minium they need to give and not get sued.

I really need help. Can anyone tell me a site I can report directly to corporate about the verbal and emotional abuse myself and coworkers are being sujected to? Things have changed drastically in the last 8 months. Now it is policy to "coach' associates until they are "coached out the door". I have been told I will lose my job- I have been called worthless and told I must work as long as my supervisor says or be written up. I've been logging 50+ hrs. a week and now have health issues which they turn a deaf ear to. Can anyone direct me where to turn?

Target Salaries Range depending on the position. However they are much more competitive than other retail stores, however starting wage is generally minimum wage.
